Jen McCulloch, LMSW
The relationship between client and clinician is essential to the therapy process. I hope that by reading about my background and my practice style you can get a sense for whether we may be a good fit for working together. The first session is also used to establish the start of this relationship. My current client base includes children from age 13 through adults of all ages. My practice focus is to provide a warm and welcoming environment for clients to feel safe and heard.
My private practice is located in Saline, Michigan, but I provide service to clients around the state. I offer virtual and in-person sessions in order to best meet the needs of my clients as well as telehealth sessions for clients in Florida. I currently work within specialty practices of ADHD, Autism, Depression and Anxiety, in both a therapeutic role as well as executive function coach.

My Background and Education
I attended the University of Michigan for my undergraduate studies, with a major in psychology. At that time I began volunteering with young children in the community, sought out practicum experiences with children in schools, and discovered my love for working in the school setting. I then went on to study social work at the University of Michigan School of Social Work, where I earned my Master's in social work with a certificate in school social work.
I spent the first 16 years of my career in the public school setting in an underprivileged area. I worked in the role of school social worker where I supported students with crisis management, special education services and general behavior interventions. The majority of my caseload included students struggling with school due to mental health concerns or economic disadvantages.
In 2015, I shifted my career to the clinical therapy sector. I now center my focus working with adolescents and adults struggling with challenges related to ADHD, autism, and depression and anxiety. I have discovered individual therapy to be the chance to engage with adolescents and adults in a way that provides a great deal of connection and ability to work toward change. My style as a therapist is relaxed, supportive and challenging (with some humor thrown in). I genuinely love my work and strive to provide the highest level of support in order to guide my clients to make their own discoveries of self-worth and endurance through difficult life circumstances.
